Collaborative
Divorce
Rather than pursue a decision from a court, many divorcing spouses are choosing alternative dispute resolution options, such as mediation, arbitration, and collaborative divorce. Collaborative divorce is a voluntary process by which spouses each retain their own collaboratively-trained attorneys to act as their advocates in a respectful and dignified manner to reach a resolution of their own design.
Scott DeMarco has taken many advanced trainings in collaborative divorce, and has also trained dozens of new collaborative law professionals.
He has been retained in many collaborative divorce matters as a financial neutral to assist with settlement negotiations, prepare tax calculations, forecast net worth, and value businesses and other financial assets. He is an active member of the Collaborative Divorce Association of the Capital District, New York Association of Collaborative Professionals, Capital Collaborative, and International Association of Collaborative Professionals.
